Lunch Hour/
Vinylphile Files: Vol. 01
Once every week, a few of us vinylphiles like to head down to the record store at lunch and feed our addictions. This week, our score includes:
Samms’ Finds:
Left to right: Billie Holiday - The Lady Lives (1971), The Flying Lizards - The Flying Lizards (1979), Gordon Lightfoot - Gord’s Gold (1975), John Cale - Vintage Violence (1970), Metal Fingers Presents… Special Herbs Vol. 1 (2001), Television – Marquee Moon (1977)
Baby Newsday Tuesdays Vol. 1
So my wife and I are expecting our first child sometime in the next few weeks, and as such have been immersed in the strange universe of baby-culture. A week or two ago my cousin introduced me to her child’s favorite show known as Yo Gabba Gabba. I have since become completely addicted, child or not, due to such stellar segments as beat boxing lessons from Biz-Markie, Mark’s Magic Pictures by Mark Mothersbaugh, and musical performances by The Roots and The Shins. One of the best lessons I learned was to be friends with worms.
And also, not to bite my friends.
