Grain Insurance & Guarantee Relaunch

Velocity was recently contracted by longtime client Grain Insurance & Guarantee to redesign their website to coincide with the arrival of their new President and CEO. Velocity designed the original site Grain Insurance site, and after a number of years, they felt it was time for a much needed overhaul.

Designed by Creative Director Karla Burr, and programmed and executed by Interactive Designer Lee Froese (with contributions by the entire Velocity team), the new site helps to better position Grain Insurance as a nationwide corporation. Known for their variety of insurance products, the new site does a better job of showcasing the excellent selection of insurance packages they offer, in particular the speciality / niche products they’re well known for.

Site Features

• Design was updated, with cleaner typography, larger text, and easier to navigate pages. Copy was streamlined for readability. Overall, a much more user-friendly site.
• Built on WordPress and features HTML5.
• Flash on the old site was scrapped in favour of the mobile-friendly jQuery library, for simple animations.
• The News section is geospecific to whichever region of Canada you are in; a user in Toronto or London will automatically see the Grain Insurance Ontario-regional news as the primary option.
