On June 21st we were excited the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s website design won “Best of Region” at Design Edge Canada’s first-ever Regional Design Awards. Fifty-eight winners were chosen out of nearly 500 entires, with one project in each region being selected as “Best of Region.”
We’d like to thank Design Edge Canada for their recognition, as well as congratulate all the other winners. To learn more about the awards, click here. And to see the winners of our region, click here.
May 13th was a good night for Velocity. Besides having an excellent meal complete with wine and dessert, we also went home with three awards from the Advertising Association of Winnipeg’s annual Signature Awards: one for best website for the Winnipeg Art Gallery (www.wag.ca), one for best ‘radio- single’ for the Cupcake Corner’s “Cup-Blankery” spot, and a ‘People’s Choice’ award for, once again, the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s website.
This year’s Signature Awards mark Velocity’s fourth win in the website category, while a first for the People’s Choice. We were also happy to win our first radio award, which created by our prosaic writer Jarrett. (He insisted on “prosaic writer” even though he’s not sure what it means.)
The Signature Awards are Manitoba’s biggest advertising awards ceremony, with dozens of design, advertising, and branding agencies submitting their best work to a worldwide panel of judges. The theme this year was ‘Lookin’ Good,’ but the night was really about mustaches. (Though, our table also spoke fondly of the soup.)
