Are you an ideas person?

At Cocoon, we hire people who are passionate about what they do and always strive to do it better. To fit in here, you’ll have a great sense of humour and what can only be described as an obsession with branding. The words ‘good enough’ do not exist in your vocabulary, and best in the market doesn’t cut it for you – you want to always push yourself toward becoming the best in the world at what you do. We play hard, and we work harder (the thing is, we don’t really consider it work).

FREELANCE

Most of what we do at Cocoon is all done in-house, but if you are extremely talented and don’t see yourself moving to Winnipeg right away, this could be a way to test the waters. If we find ourselves busting at the seams we might call on you to pitch in. Whether you’re a copywriter, flash developer, come up with really great concepts, or have a special gift you’re not quite sure when it might come in handy, we want to know you.

BENCH WARMERS

We’re not always hiring for every position, but we are always open to meeting future Cocooners. Whether you have always been curious about what it would be like to work at Cocoon, or you just stumbled onto us – if you’re talented and think you might add to our team one day, tell us.

STUDENTS

If you are a looking for advice, experience, or mentorship, our elevator doors are always open (during the day). Before you get your hopes up, we don’t generally have many paid positions for students open because students don’t typically have enough experience yet for the level of work we demand from ourselves. However, there has been the odd exception, it just isn’t the norm.

If you are passionate about the industry and think you’ve got talent, don’t let anything prevent you from applying or contacting us to review your portfolio for you – you never know where it might lead. You are the future, and possibly future Cocooners.

COMPENSATION
We base compensation primarily on your ability and fit culturally – not necessarily years of experience.  As such, the successful candidates compensation will be based on what abilities, fit, experience, and leadership they bring.


ART DIRECTOR
The ideal candidate is excellent at concept development both independently and collaboratively. Stays awake all night thinking of ideas that can change the world. Is passionate about all forms of advertising and believes in the idea leading execution for generating the greatest impact. You can art direct and establish the desired look and feel suited to the brand and cohesively across an integrated campaign.

IDENTITY DESIGNER
The ideal candidate has years of experience designing brandmarks and overall brand identities across complete expressions. Is passionate about all forms of brand expression and brand experience. You have experience either planning or following brand strategy to inspire your creative solution.

PRINT PRODUCTION DESIGNER
The ideal candidate knows print production from years of experience. Is passionate about paper and printing techniques. You can efficiently design for all print applications, and express the brand effectively.

JUNIOR DESIGNER
The ideal candidate is a natural designer but needs to be pushed to grow and help to refine their skills. Is passionate about many forms of design, paper, and printing techniques. You want to get involved in designing for brands, learning about branding, and getting the opportunity to collaborate in creative brainstorms.

BRAND STRATEGIST
The ideal candidate is experienced at leading brand strategy development. Is passionate about branding and creating innovative brand experiences. You understand how to build brands internally to create the desired culture, and create brand manuals and guidelines to inspire and guide creative brand expressions for brand experience, marketing, and advertising.
