As instantly as it was gone, instant film is back on the market (and more importantly back in my hands).

When Polaroid initially made the announcement that they would no longer be producing the famous, iconic instant film, people started to panic. Luckily there were some clear headed people out there. They called themselves The Impossible Project and they saw an opportunity to carry on where Polaroid had left off. And they did it right. The packaging is beautiful and from what I’ve seen, the photos turn out great. It has been a long time coming, but new instant film for our old Polaroid 600 cameras are finally here and ready to order.

On the weekend Chris and I got tickets to Centrex! For those who don’t know what Centrex is, it can be summed up in a couple words: “a star studded, food filled booze romp.” Let me take you through a guided tour.

It looks like any other escalator……..

But once you are up those stairs, its an oasis of bbq, chicken fingers, and beer!

First stop Iron Chef

Chris thought it was impressive!

Iron Chef was intense! and I got a little sweaty, so I thought I would freshen up.

Look who we found!

In his commercials he always says you’ll find him. And that we did!

Now chris needs to freshen up.

All that excitement and we got all tuckered out…..

Eating Out Winnipeg | Vol. 07Subway + The Duke of Kent Legion

On days when you don’t feel like spending so much money on a ‘spensive meal, Subway is great. But generally, you know what you’re going to get. It’s Subway. So why not get that footlong to go and head on down to the Duke of Kent Legion on the corner of McDermot and Albert Street where you can bring your lunch in, heat it up if necessary and have a beer for the price of three measly dollars. They have some Winnipeg classics, such as Standard, Fort Garry and Labatt 50. But please, spare George (the man in charge) the headaches and follow these four simple rules:

1. Bring cash ($3.00 on debit?? Get a load of this guy)
2. Do NOT wear any kind of hat (unless you want to buy a round for everyone)
3. Make sure you sign in by the cash register
4. Bring your empties up to the counter (your mom isn’t there to clean up after you)

Follow those rules and you got yourself a place to sit, some classy drinks and an atmosphere to help you forget about the fact that you’re on a budget and eating Subway.
